This afternoon beginning at about 4:50 pm Charles N3YRB (and some others) will be attempting to check-in to the HV 80 Net on 3.835 MHz.
Charles will be using his Icom 705 at 5W (more details below).
One of the goals of the HV 80 Net is to support tests and experiments which help us to learn with and from one another and to optimize our stations.
We welcome ‘Relay’ calls which assist the Net Control who may not hear distant or low power signals.
Some regulars on the HV 80 have also begun monitoring the K3FEF WebSDR at http://k3fef.com:8901 and providing relays as well.
Below is the info I received from N3YRB who will be transmitting from Ulster County NY this afternoon.
Take care and hope to hear you on the air,
Paul AC2UQ

I've been prepping to go mobile and start doing SOTA activations with my ICOM 705 and my Chameleon MPA and I think I'll give the setup a test run from a tent I put up in my backyard, we'll call it a BOTA (Backyard on the Air) activation. I've got a long wire strung up in the woods so I'll hook up to that and we'll see if you can hear me with 5W. Fingers crossed, hopefully we'll speak tomorrow!
