Frank W2GIO provided and update on his volunteer activities with the Repair Café of the Hudson Valley as part of his report on a recent Hudson Valley 80 Meter Net.
Recently Jim K2BHM joined Frank and many other ‘Repair Coaches’ at a Repair Café held in New Paltz, NY.
Bob KD2QAK will be participating in a Repair Café in Red Hook, NY on April 23.
The Repair Cafe idea was born in Amsterdam in 2009 and was brought to New Paltz by volunteer organizer John Wackman in 2013. His dedication enthusiasm and success inspired others to launch Repair Cafe events in their communities.
Below is a link to a YouTube video which aired a while back on the NBC Sunday Today show that records a typical day at a Repair Café wherever it is held around the world.
If you keep your eyes peeled you will catch a few glimpses of Frank W2GIO helping folks fix electrical and electronic equipment and bring it back to life.
