
A Winter Storm Warning has now been announced by the Albany National Weather Service office for the region usually covered by the Hudson Valley 80 Meter Net.
We will conduct an 80 Meter Weather Net & Welfare Check tomorrow morning, TuesdayMarch 14 at 7:30 am on 3.835 MHz (+/- 5-10 kHz).
Kenny K2KRP will serve as Net Control will announce the time of additional Nets later in the day depending upon conditions.

No special weather reporting devices are required.
The basic report is simple and brief:
1. Current Conditions (include any known hazards or utility outages)
2. Snow depth
3. Wind direction and speed (if known);
4. Temperature
All are welcome to check-in.

A WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM EDT
WEDNESDAY March 15.
* WHAT...Heavy, wet snow expected. Total snow accumulations of
12 to 24 inches with localized totals of 2 to 3 feet across
the higher terrain of the eastern Catskills and Helderbergs.
Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
* WHERE...The eastern Catskills, the western and southern
Adirondacks, Schoharie Valley and Helderbergs in eastern New
York.
* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult to impossible, including
the Tuesday morning and evening commutes. The weight of the
heavy wet snow on tree branches will result in power outages.
Snowfall rates will exceed two inches per hour at times,
especially late tonight into Tuesday morning. Strong winds will
also result in very low visibility, especially Tuesday into
Tuesday night.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...This will be a long duration and high-
impact snow event.
